Our Story
CJ Montgomery grew up in Idaho and has spent his career in the Pacific Northwest. He holds a JD from the University of Idaho College of Law and an MBA from Washington State University — and was a co-founding attorney at Wheeler, Montgomery & Sleight Law Offices, where his practice focused on business formation, internet law, and advertising compliance. That legal foundation informs how he runs every business he's built since.
He founded Speedwinds Nutrition in 2001, when selling supplements online was still a novel idea. He figured out internet advertising early and built a DTC brand around it. Speedwinds still operates today, with brands including Procerin and Sytropin.
In 2016 he founded CBDPure (Nutra Pure LLC) in Vancouver, WA — before CBD was mainstream, before the Farm Bill, before everyone and their dog was in it. When the 2018 Farm Bill passed, the company was positioned. Sales increased 6,500% that year. CJ ran it through the growth phase and sold to a private investor in 2022.
He also served as Interim President of Elevated Softgels, a hemp product manufacturer in the Pacific Northwest, and guided it through an operational build-out that preceded its acquisition by a public company.
Today he owns and operates Populum and Mirth Provisions, both in the hemp/CBD consumer space.

His background in internet and advertising law means he thinks about compliance and regulatory risk differently than most operators in the supplement and hemp space. In industries where the FTC and FDA are paying close attention, that matters.
